Biography

Currently serving as Chief Communications Officer for the City of Boston, Jessicah was appointed by Mayor Michelle Wu in December 2021 to lead communications strategy for the Mayor and her Cabinet. In this role, she provides strategic counsel to Boston’s top leadership and shapes the city’s public messaging—ensuring the voices of all communities are heard.

Widely recognized as the “People’s Publicist,” Jessicah previously founded and led J. Pierre Communications (JPC), a boutique PR agency dedicated to amplifying the work of political leaders, nonprofits, small businesses, and media organizations. Her expertise in brand-building, media strategy, and storytelling has elevated the profiles of underrepresented communities and inspired new narratives of empowerment.

A proud UMass Amherst alumna and a Brighton High School Class of 2009 graduate, Jessicah’s journey reflects her commitment to equity, civic engagement, and community leadership. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she is the founder of Queens Company, an organization devoted to empowering women of color professionals and entrepreneurs through mentorship and networking.
