Long before his management roles, he had nurtured ties to the compas world through familial connections — his cousin Kéké Bélizaire played guitar in Mizik Mizik, and his uncle Joubert Charles was a well-known promoter — but Fito’s own path, as he reflected in a 2025 Magik9 interview celebrating compas’s 70th anniversary, was shaped by chance turning into vocation.

Fritz Hyacinthe — better known as Fito Farinen — is a Haitian music promoter, event organizer, and manager whose influence looms large behind the scenes of modern compas. While he never sang or played an instrument, his passion for music transformed a casual hobby into a lasting career. He began by DJing at spontaneous parties and launching The Club Boston with friends, gradually scaling up to organizing full club nights and major events. Over time, Fito became a pivotal managerial figure for some of Haiti’s most influential compas groups — notably Carimi, whom he has long managed, and Harmonik, with whom he helped stabilize operations during internal transitions.
