Biography

Max B. Trezil brings over 20 years of experience in education, public service, and federal government. His career reflects a consistent dedication to advancing public engagement, strengthening community partnerships, and expanding access to economic and educational opportunities. Max began his professional journey in US with the New York City Department of Education, as a para-educator and later Teaching Collaborative Fellow. In these roles, he worked closely with students, parents, and educators, ensuring that learning environments were both inclusive and empowering. His early work in education laid the foundation for his lifelong belief that economic opportunity is best achieved through education.

Following his contributions in education, Max joined the U.S. Department of Commerce, Census Bureau, as a Partnership Specialist for the Northeastern Region. During the 2020 Decennial Census, he played a critical role in outreach strategy, planning, and execution. He was responsible for cultivating and coordinating partnership agreements with federal, state, and local governments, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders. His efforts directly supported national data integrity by encouraging full participation in the census, which influences congressional representation, federal funding, and community planning.

In 2020, Max transitioned to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), where he initially served in the Wages and Investment Division as a Senior Taxpayer Advisory Specialist. His work focused on improving taxpayer education, addressing compliance challenges, and enhancing accessibility of IRS services for diverse communities. As of November 2023, Max serves in the IRS Communications and Liaison Division as a Senior Stakeholder Liaison in New York Area. In this role, he collaborates with employers, community organizations, professional associations, and tax practitioners to deliver priority outreach initiatives, foster compliance, and build stronger trust between taxpayers and the IRS. He is committed to advancing the IRS mission through proactive communication, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement.

Max is a proud graduate of the City University of New York (CUNY-MEC) &John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business and Public Administration. He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies as a Ph.D. candidate at Helms School of Government, Liberty University. Fluent in French, Haitian Creole, and conversational Spanish, Max leverages his multicultural background to connect with diverse audiences and communities across the United States. Beyond his professional achievements, Max is deeply passionate about education, which he believes is the most effective pathway to economic opportunity and social mobility. He also believes that success is rooted in collaboration, education, and the willingness to serve others. With a strong sense of purpose, Max seeks to leave a legacy of service, empowerment, and meaningful contribution while advancing the mission and vision of the IRS Communication and Stakeholder Liaison program.
